Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Forvendo handles information when readers visit the site, subscribe to the newsletter, contact the site, or purchase a digital product. Forvendo is a small founder-led editorial site for US-based solo Shopify operators in the $5,000–$50,000 MRR range.

The policy is written for clarity, not legal complexity. It should be read together with the Terms of Service, the Affiliate Disclosure, and the Editorial Policy. Together, those four pages describe how Forvendo operates.

Forvendo’s good-faith description of its data practices is not a legal opinion on data protection law. If you need a legal opinion that applies to your specific situation, consult an attorney qualified in the relevant jurisdiction.

Information Forvendo may collect

Forvendo collects only what is needed to run the site, deliver requested resources, respond to readers, and understand which pages help readers in aggregate.

Information readers provide directly

Email address, when subscribing to the newsletter or downloading a free resource
Name, if voluntarily provided when subscribing or contacting the site
Message content, when readers write to hello@forvendo.com for support, corrections, suggestions, or other reasons
Purchase-related information, when buying a digital product (handled mainly by a Merchant of Record payment processor — see “Purchase and payment information” below)

Forvendo should not intentionally request sensitive personal information such as government IDs, biometric data, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, genetic data, or health data. Readers are asked not to send this kind of information by email either.

Information collected automatically

Forvendo may use Google Analytics 4 or similar analytics tools to understand aggregated website usage. Analytics tools may collect information such as pages visited, device type, approximate location, referral source, and interaction data. Forvendo does not use analytics data to intentionally identify individual readers.

Hosting and server-level logs may also be processed by the hosting provider. These typically include the requesting IP address, browser user agent, and request timestamp, and are retained according to the hosting provider’s standard settings for security and uptime monitoring.

Purchase and payment information

When a reader purchases a digital product, payment may be processed by Lemon Squeezy or another Merchant of Record / payment processor. The payment processor may collect billing details, payment method information, tax or VAT details, fraud-prevention data, and transaction records.

Forvendo does not directly store full credit card numbers. Limited order details (such as email address, name on the order, product purchased, and order ID) may be received by Forvendo to deliver the product, provide support, and confirm the purchase.

Detailed payment terms, refund handling, license scope, and acceptable use are governed by the Terms of Service.

How Forvendo uses information

Information collected through the channels above may be used to:

Deliver newsletters and free resources
Send purchased digital products and related receipts
Respond to reader emails, corrections, and topic requests
Improve website content and usability based on aggregated patterns
Understand which resources are useful for solo Shopify operators
Process payments, handle refunds, and meet associated tax, VAT, and fraud-prevention obligations through the payment processor
Maintain site security, prevent abuse, and respond to applicable legal obligations

Information is not used for behavioral ad profiling, retargeting through ad networks, or sale to third-party data brokers.

Email and newsletter

Readers may subscribe to receive periodic updates and free resources from Forvendo. Email delivery may be handled by Kit (formerly ConvertKit) or another email service provider.

Subscription is opt-in.
Readers can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email.
Transactional emails related to a purchase, a support thread, or a correction reply may still be sent when necessary to complete the underlying request.
Forvendo does not sell or rent subscriber email lists to third parties.

If a different email service provider is introduced in the future, this page will be updated before the change takes effect.

Analytics and cookies

Forvendo may use cookies and similar technologies for analytics, site functionality, and the purchase flow.

Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4 may set cookies to measure aggregated site usage such as pageviews and basic device information. Analytics tools may receive information described in the “Information collected automatically” section above. Forvendo does not use analytics data to intentionally identify individual readers.
Strictly necessary cookies — A small number of cookies may be used for site features such as session handling or remembering whether a small banner has been dismissed.
Third-party cookies — Embedded tools, payment processor checkout flows, and any future affiliate networks may set their own cookies as needed for their function. Those cookies are controlled by the third party, not by Forvendo, and are subject to the third party’s privacy policy.

Readers can control cookies through their browser settings. Blocking or clearing cookies may affect some site functions, but the core articles will still be readable. Privacy-focused browsers, “Do Not Track” signals, and content blockers can also reduce analytics collection.

Affiliate links and third-party links

Forvendo may link to third-party websites, including affiliate links to software or ecommerce tools relevant to solo Shopify operators.

Affiliate links may use tracking parameters or cookies controlled by the vendor or affiliate network, not by Forvendo directly.
Forvendo may receive aggregated commission reports if a referral results in a qualified sign-up or purchase. Forvendo does not receive full personal information about readers from those referrals.
Forvendo is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites, vendors, or affiliate networks. Readers should review third-party privacy policies before signing up or purchasing.

Digital product purchases

Digital product purchases may be processed by Lemon Squeezy (acting as Merchant of Record) or another payment processor. When Forvendo uses a Merchant of Record:

The processor may handle checkout, payment, sales tax and VAT collection, receipts, fraud checks, refund handling, and chargeback responses.
The processor’s own privacy policy governs how it handles billing details, payment method data, and similar information.
Forvendo may receive limited order and customer details needed to deliver the product, provide support, and confirm purchases.
Full payment card data is handled by the payment processor, not by Forvendo directly.

Refund rules, license scope, acceptable use, and dispute resolution for digital products are covered in the Terms of Service.

Data sharing

Forvendo shares reader data only with the service providers needed to operate the site, and in limited situations described below.

Service provider categories that may receive data necessary for their function:

Hosting provider (web hosting, server logs, email forwarding)
Analytics provider (aggregated traffic analytics)
Email service provider (newsletter and free-resource delivery)
Payment processor / Merchant of Record (digital product purchases, tax handling, fraud prevention)
Security and spam-prevention tools (form protection, basic anti-spam)
WordPress infrastructure and plugins (site operation and search indexing diagnostics through tools such as Google Search Console)

Each provider has its own privacy policy and uses the data for its specific function.

Forvendo may also share information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to a lawful request, investigate suspected abuse, protect site security, or transfer the site as part of a business reorganization, sale, or asset transfer. In a business-transfer situation, the receiving party would be expected to honor this Privacy Policy or notify readers of any material change.

Forvendo does not sell or rent personal information to data brokers or advertising networks. Where local law uses a specific definition of “sale” or “sharing”, readers can contact Forvendo to ask about that interpretation for their situation.

Data retention

Forvendo retains information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected and for related legal, accounting, security, or dispute-handling reasons.

General practice:

Email subscriber data may be retained until the reader unsubscribes or requests deletion, or until the subscriber list is pruned for inactivity.
Purchase records may be retained as needed for accounting, tax reporting, refund and chargeback handling, and applicable legal recordkeeping. US federal and state tax recordkeeping requirements may extend this period.
Email inquiries may be retained as needed to respond, follow up, and maintain a record of corrections or support requests.
Server and security logs may be retained according to the hosting provider’s standard settings for security and uptime monitoring.

Specific retention periods may change over time as tools and configurations are updated. Readers can email Forvendo to ask about the retention status of a specific record.

Reader choices and rights

Depending on where a reader lives, they may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. Common choices available to all readers:

Request correction or deletion of personal information, subject to legal recordkeeping obligations for completed purchases

Forvendo reviews privacy requests in a reasonable manner based on applicable law and available records. Identity verification may be requested for access, correction, or deletion requests, in proportion to the sensitivity of the data.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA), residents of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR / UK-GDPR), and residents of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah) may have additional rights under their local law. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@forvendo.com with a clear description of the request and the email or account the request relates to.

Forvendo does not discriminate against readers for exercising privacy rights granted by applicable law.

Children

Forvendo is written for business operators and is not directed at children. Forvendo does not intentionally collect personal information from children, and the site is not designed for an audience under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Forvendo, please email hello@forvendo.com and the information will be reviewed for deletion.

Security

Forvendo uses reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate for a small founder-led editorial site, including HTTPS / TLS encryption in transit, application passwords for automation, least-privilege access to admin systems, and a managed hosting provider for server-level patching.

No website or method of electronic transmission can be considered perfectly secure. Readers should avoid sending sensitive information by email and should be cautious about messages claiming to be from Forvendo that request unusual personal details. If Forvendo becomes aware of a security incident affecting reader data, it will respond consistent with applicable US federal and state breach-notification requirements.

International readers

Forvendo’s primary audience is US-based solo Shopify operators, but the site may be accessed from any country. When readers access the site from outside the United States, information may be processed in countries where Forvendo’s service providers operate, which may include the United States and other jurisdictions.

Privacy rights, processing rules, and the meaning of specific terms can vary by location. Readers outside the United States are encouraged to review the rights available under their local law and contact Forvendo with specific privacy questions.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as tools, services, business practices, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date in the frontmatter at the top of this page is updated when changes are made. Material changes may also be reflected on the page with a short note describing what changed.

Continued use of Forvendo after a material change to this policy indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
