About Forvendo

About Forvendo

Forvendo helps solo Shopify operators turn scattered ecommerce work into repeatable operating systems. The site publishes practical resources — checklists, SOPs, spreadsheets, app-selection guides, and tax-preparation content — for one-person stores running between $5,000 and $50,000 in monthly recurring revenue.

This page exists so readers can quickly understand what Forvendo is, what it is not, who operates it, how the work is funded, and how the editorial process actually runs. Forvendo is a small, founder-led project, not a media company.

Who Forvendo is for

Forvendo is built for a specific reader.

  • US-based solo Shopify operators
  • Bootstrapped ecommerce founders with no outside investor and no co-founder
  • Stores doing roughly $5,000–$50,000 in monthly recurring revenue
  • Operators who manage the store alone, or mostly alone, often around a full-time job
  • Operators who spend about 5–10 hours a week on the store
  • Operators on Shopify Basic or Shopify (not Plus), with an app stack between four and twelve installed apps
  • Operators who ship into more than one US state and need to think about multi-state sales tax exposure
  • Operators who want systems, checklists, spreadsheets, and concrete decisions — not motivational posts

If you run a pre-revenue store, a seven-figure Shopify Plus brand, an agency, a multi-employee operation, or a dropshipping arbitrage hustle, Forvendo is probably not the right resource. The advice is calibrated to the band described above.

What Forvendo publishes

Every page on Forvendo is meant to leave you with something you can save, edit, or run — not just words.

The published material falls into the following categories:

  • Operating checklists (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly cadences for solo Shopify stores)
  • Standard operating procedures (SOPs) for repeatable tasks (refunds, chargebacks, inventory reorder, customer service)
  • Spreadsheets and templates (sales tax nexus tracker, 1099-K reconciliation, app stack scoring, weekly operating sheet)
  • App-selection guides for Shopify Basic stores (email, reviews, subscriptions, page builders, analytics)
  • Tax and compliance preparation content (multi-state sales tax, federal and state 1099-K, W-9 and TIN reconciliation)
  • Workflow articles that walk through a specific operating problem end-to-end
  • Founder-led operational analysis on what changes at $5K, $18K, $40K MRR

Forvendo is not a news site. It does not publish daily updates on the Shopify ecosystem, fundraising news, or general ecommerce inspiration content. The catalogue grows slowly because each piece is meant to remain useful for months, not days.

Who operates Forvendo

Articles on Forvendo are published under Forvendo Editorial. Forvendo is founder-led and independently operated.

The site operator is Yongho Jeon. Final review of every published article sits with the site operator. Reader email is read and answered by the site operator when practical, during a normal working week.

Forvendo is a one-person project at this stage. There is no team, no agency, no managed staff, and no parent company. The operator personally researches, drafts (with AI assistance, reviewed line by line), edits, fact-checks, publishes, and maintains the catalogue.

Personal home address, exact location, and other private details are intentionally not published on this page. Anything readers need for legitimate business or correction reasons can be requested through the contact channel below.

What Forvendo does not claim

Forvendo is honest about what it is not. Setting expectations clearly here protects both readers and the operator from misunderstanding the site’s role.

  • Forvendo does not claim to be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firm.
  • Forvendo does not claim to be a law firm or attorney’s office.
  • Forvendo does not claim to be an accounting practice, financial advisor, fiduciary, registered investment advisor, enrolled agent, brokerage, or tax-preparation service.
  • Forvendo does not provide legal, tax, accounting, financial, or professional advice for individual situations.
  • Forvendo does not invent US-based personal identities, US college histories, US professional histories, or US-based business case studies that did not happen.
  • Forvendo does not list credentials such as CPA, Esq., MBA, or JD next to author bylines unless they are real and verified.
  • Forvendo does not invent fake reader emails, fake operator testimonials, or fake first-person anecdotes.
  • Forvendo does not promise revenue outcomes, conversion outcomes, compliance outcomes, or tax outcomes for any individual store.
  • Forvendo does not run pay-for-placement coverage, sponsored articles disguised as editorial, or paid product mentions without inline disclosure.

These limits are part of the editorial standard, not marketing language. The detailed sourcing and AI-use rules behind them are on the Editorial Policy page.

How Forvendo makes money

Forvendo is self-funded. There is no outside investor, no parent company, and no paid consulting practice attached to the site.

Three current and future revenue streams support the work:

  • Free educational content — articles, free PDFs, and free Google Sheets are published openly to grow readership and trust. They are not paywalled.
  • Digital assets — paid spreadsheets, SOP packs, checklists, and Notion templates priced for solo operators (typically $7–$47).
  • Affiliate commissions — a small, curated set of software tools that solo Shopify operators commonly use. Forvendo may earn a commission when a reader signs up through an affiliate link.

Reader purchases of digital assets and qualifying affiliate signups directly support the time required to research, write, and maintain the catalogue.

Affiliate participation is disclosed inline next to each affiliate link and on the dedicated Affiliate Disclosure page. Affiliate compensation does not determine which tools are covered, the conclusions reached, or the order in which they appear.

Forvendo does not currently run display ads, paid newsletter sponsorships, or sponsored articles. If any of that changes, the relevant pages will be updated before publication.

How content is created

Every Forvendo article goes through the same short sequence:

  1. Research from primary sources — IRS.gov for federal tax, state Department of Revenue pages for state-level rules, Shopify Help Center and Partner documentation for platform features, vendor documentation and public pricing pages for SaaS reviews, FTC guidance for disclosure topics.
  2. Drafting with AI assistance — Forvendo uses AI tools to help outline, draft, restructure, summarise source documents, format tables, generate checklist scaffolds, and proofread. AI is not used to fabricate examples, source factual claims, invent quotes, or impersonate operator experience.
  3. Human review and rewrite — every paragraph is reviewed and rewritten by the site operator before publication. Prices, percentages, thresholds, and regulatory citations are checked against primary sources by a human, not by an AI.
  4. Editorial Policy gate — the article is checked against the standards on the Editorial Policy page (sourcing, tone, conservative language on tax and legal topics, AI use disclosure).
  5. Pre-publish validator — an automated pre-publish script confirms structure, frontmatter, external sources, visuals, and risk-wording flags before the post moves from draft to publish.

The longer version of this process is on the Editorial Policy page.

Important limitations

Forvendo content is educational and operational. It is research-backed but not professional advice for any individual situation. Several practical limits apply.

  • Platform rules change. Shopify, Shopify Payments, and connected app behavior may be updated without notice.
  • Software pricing changes. Vendor pricing pages should be checked at the moment of purchase rather than relying on dated screenshots.
  • Tax thresholds change. State economic nexus thresholds and federal 1099-K thresholds have shifted multiple times in recent years and may shift again.
  • State requirements may vary. Sales tax, registration, and filing obligations depend on the specific state.
  • Operating circumstances vary. A workflow that fits one solo operator may not fit another at a different revenue level, product mix, or shipping pattern.

Readers should verify any decision that affects filings, contracts, payments, or compliance with a qualified US professional licensed in the relevant state. Articles that touch tax, legal, or platform topics use conservative language (may, can, should be reviewed, confirm with a CPA) because the underlying rules are jurisdiction-specific and time-bound.

Operating documents

This page is one of five public-facing trust documents that together describe how Forvendo operates:

  • Editorial Policy — sourcing, AI use, updates, corrections, affiliate independence
  • Affiliate Disclosure — current affiliate participation and disclosure standards
  • Privacy Policy — what data Forvendo collects when you visit, subscribe, or purchase
  • Terms of Service — site usage, governing law, and full disclaimer language

The auto-injected disclaimer at the bottom of every published article links back to these documents.
